Exciting News from Kinder – Our Chickens Have Hatched!
On Tuesday, our Kinder class received a delightful surprise — a delivery of six chicken eggs and three duck eggs! Since then, the classroom has been filled with anticipation, curiosity, and lots of squeals of joy as three little chicks have hatched.
Meet our newest fluffy friends: Chocolate, Popcorn, and Karate Kid! The children have absolutely loved watching the hatching process and have even had the chance to gently hold the chicks — a truly magical experience for everyone.
We’re all eagerly waiting to see if any ducklings will join the fun soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Fathers Day celebrations so special last Friday and Monday and to all the dads and granddads who were able to join us for breakfast, open classrooms and the liturgy. We hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day.
This week we celebrated the canonisation of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the boy who loved Jesus and became our first millennial saint. The ELC joined the school on Monday for an assembly to learn more about St Carlo’s life. We were invited to wear sports clothes like Carlos.
RU OK? Day - Thursday 11 September
Lobsters and Turtles were invited to wear yellow clothing or accessories to school on Thursday 11 September for R U OK? Day. This is an important reminder to check in with family, friends and people around us and to ask R U OK any day. A conversation could change a life.
SJV Side Show Alley and Lunch order – Friday 19 September
The ELC will be attending the St John Vianney’s sideshow alley, a fun day to build community connections and raise funds for Catholic Mission. The ELC will cover the cost of the bus to SJV. Please check your note pockets for permission notes and also for the special lunch order that is available on the day. Please note lunch orders are due back by Wednesday 17th and are cash only. A small donation for Catholic Mission would also be appreciated.
St Jude's Mini Missions Fete - Wednesday 24 September
Year 6 will hold our annual Mini Missions Fete to raise funds for Mwamba Academy in Kenya to help build classrooms, supply clean water and schooling necessities. There will be a variety of delicious treats and fun experiences for our students. Purchases will be made using ‘helping hands’, which must be bought in advance through Qkr! Orders close at 12 noon on Monday, September 22.

Constable Kenny's Special Visit – Celebrating 50 Years!
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome ACT Policing’s Constable Kenny Koala to our school as part of his 50th year of community engagement. Constable Kenny visited our Kinder, Year 1, and Year 2 classes and delivered fun and informative sessions on safety.
Students learned valuable lessons about stranger danger, road safety, and how to stay safe in the community. Constable Kenny used storytelling, engaging activities, and his trademark friendly approach to help our youngest students understand these important messages.
We’re grateful for Constable Kenny’s visit and the important work he and ACT Policing continue to do to keep our children and communities safe.
Happy 50th year, Constable Kenny!

Father’s Day was a wonderful celebration of the amazing men in our community!
A huge thank you to our fantastic Year 2 parent team for organising such a joyful event last week. The playground was filled with excited children, proud dads and grandfathers, all enjoying a morning of great food, laughter, and paper airplane-making fun.
The smell of sizzling sausage sandwiches and bacon and egg rolls filled the air, and the coffee cart kept everyone happily caffeinated. We were thrilled with the turnout and grateful for the sense of connection and community.
A special shout-out to Bakers Delight for generously supporting the event with fresh bread and rolls — your contribution helped make the morning extra special.

SJV Tuckshop is open Wednesday & Friday. Orders can be made online via Qkr! A copy of the Menu and Qkr! instructions can be found on the Tuckshop Webpage.

Wednesday 17th September
Aysar 11:30am - 12:30pm
As we head into Term 4, we'll be switching our menus to feature summer options. Mel will be bringing in some exciting new choices for the children to try. Stay tuned for more updates!
Volunteers are the real HERO'S! If you can spare a Wednesday or Friday to team up with Mel in the canteen, we’d be super grateful.
Mel’s on the lookout for extra hands—without enough volunteers, we’ll need to simplify the menu to keep lunch orders moving so the children can eat and get back to playing and having fun.
If you’re up for it, just drop Mel an email or give her a shout with your availability. Thanks a million for helping out! We appreciate you.
